Square Appointments: booking, pricing and fit

Square Appointments brings online booking and checkout into Square’s business system. Consider it when staff need to manage appointments and take payments in the same working day.

Is Square Appointments a fit?

Consider it when

A solo practitioner or service team that wants a booking site alongside Square checkout. Start with the appointment, then check the staff, room and payment requirements of your actual service.

Look closely if

A free subscription does not make payment processing free. Advanced appointment features depend on the plan, and each paid location adds to the subscription bill.

Try one real booking scenario

A treatment needs one practitioner and one room. During your trial, block the room while the practitioner remains free, then try to book the service. Confirm which plan supports the exact allocation you need.

What to ask during a demo

If a treatment needs both a practitioner and a room, what happens when one is unavailable? Ask the provider to book it, take a deposit, then reschedule it. Check that the room, practitioner and final balance still refer to the same appointment.

  • Confirm that required staff, location, resource, class, reminder, and calendar-sync features are included in the exact plan and account region being considered.
  • Confirm that Square's payment flow, supported hardware, and cancellation or prepayment settings match the business's checkout and policy requirements.
